A great team of Korea Mouse Phenotyping Centers (KMPC) visited our institute on Feb 27, 2018. The KMPC aims to establish a robust research infrastructure of mouse resources and phenotyping analysis to identify gene functions for overcoming human diseases and to acquire useful technologies for the development of new drugs. At our institute, Professor Je Kyung Seong (Director of KMPC, Seoul National University) delivered a lecture about the overview of KMPC and the latest discovery of his research (Functional validation of Adipogeneis-related genes in Large scale mouse models) in the 217 CARD seminar. In the seminar, Professor Jin Wook Bok (Yonsei University College of Medicine) provided a talk about Hearing loss genome from patients and mouse models. In addition, Dr. Toru Takeo (CARD, Kumamoto University) introduced the recent activity of CARD, and our staff and student (Dr. Yoshiko Nakagawa and Ayumi Mukunoki) shared information of the latest technology about genome editing and ultrasuperovultion techniques. It was a fruitful opportunity to develop international collaborations for establishing the leading-research infrastructure in Asia.
